Resumé

Julia Stout resides in Black Mountain, NC. Her current medium is steel,concrete,and stone. Sculpture is an opportunity for her to create three-dimensional poetry.  Julia's work is in several municipal and private collections in the Southeast.

Julia began her career as an interior designer to insure she could suppport herself making art. While getting her Masters Degree in Product Design, she worked as a set designer/fabricator for Public Television. She studied film/video, then produced "Women over the past fifty years in Industrial Design" for her thesis and several documentaries. She teaches Design Fundamentals & Sculpture; and currently is a fine artist. Julia continues to have interests in many different mediums and aspires through her work to honor and celebrate the sacred journey of life, of growth, and of simplicity.
